Meet Our Pitch Officers

Keeping the Vikings Playing, Whatever the Weather!

Behind every great match day is a team of dedicated volunteers helping to ensure our pitches are safe, prepared and ready for football! Our pitch officers play an important role at Sidmouth Town Junior Vikings, working behind the scenes to support our teams and keep grassroots football running smoothly throughout the season. From checking pitch conditions and assessing whether games can safely go ahead to helping coordinate pitch availability, their work helps ensure our young Vikings have the best possible environment to train, play and enjoy their football. With the unpredictable British weather, it's not always an easy job! Our pitch officers often have important decisions to make, balancing the excitement of match day with player safety and protecting our playing surfaces. We're incredibly grateful for the time, commitment and effort they put in, often long before the first whistle blows.
