Sidmouth Town Junior Vikings

Welfare Officer role

Sidmouth Town Junior Vikings require a Welfare Officer to ensure that anyone involved with children on a regular basis is up to date with CRB checks (to be renewed every 3 years), Safeguarding children (to be renewed every 3 years) and Emergency Aid (to be renewed every 3 years). This includes team managers, coaches and anyone who has regular contact with children.

An annual ‘Health Check’ has to be submitted to Devon FA giving information on qualifications and CRB status of all teams represented by the club to ensure Charter Standard is maintained.
The Welfare Officer also has to be advised of any issues that coaches / parents / children may have regarding their team and follow up any disputes with the necessary authorities.

The Welfare Officer is required to attend a welfare and safeguarding workshop every 3 years and is required to be CRB checked.

If the club does not have a Welfare Officer it will lose it’s Charter Standard accreditation and therefore all the hard work that has been put in over the years will be lost.

Anyone interested should contact Annie Peacock on 01395 513699 or e-mail I will be happy to give support as required.
